Among the many reasons why I love the ZX Spectrum Next, one is, without any doubt, its CP/M support.
The ZX Spectrum was my 1st computer and I enjoyed learning BASIC programming on it, but my first real programming love was with Turbo Pascal (on DOS, I was not even aware of CP/M at the time); I still can remember the the thrill I felt when I realized that I could make my programs into .COM files! Now, with the CP/M environment provided by the Next, I have the opportunity to program in Turbo Pascal on a ZX Spectrum!
Moreover, typing on the Next keyboard is a real pleasure so, as a kind of tribute to the Turbo Breakout game included in the Turbo Pascal 5 distribution, I had some fun rewriting my Evas10n (a BASIC breakout-like game) with Turbo Pascal 3, entirely on the Next.
Both Turbo Pascal source code and COMpiled CP/M and DOS executables are available in this GitHub repository.
Enjoy!
