Marco’s Teletext Adventures – Part 1

Recently, through the NXtel project (thanks Robin & D!), I approached the Teletext world, which is way more lively than I could imagine! So, I learned that there are various active services (NXtel , TELSTAR , TeeFax), accessible through a multitude of clients (NXtel itself, also included in the #CSpect emulator, telstar.bbc, supplied with BBC BASIC for SDL, or the excellent web clients Online Teletext Viewer and vd-view ), that it is possible to create a Teletext server with a Raspberry PI, or to recover pages from old VHS videotapes and finally I got in touch with a very active community (Teletext – The Facebook Group), which, among other things, organizes events and contests.

Regarding Teletext art, I ventured with the production of some pages and I decided to take part in the Block Party 2020 Teletext Art Contest. Here are some of my creations, complete with photographs of the subjects that inspired me and links to open them with the online viewer:
